The results of The X Factor this week started off on a fun note with the four remaining acts (Carly Rose Sonenclar, Emblem3, Fifth Harmony and Tate Stevens) coming together for a special performance. The four acts sang a song together that showcased just how talented each of them are.
After the show recapped last nights episode, Khloe Kardashian-Odom and Mario Lopez showed a video reel of the contestants and how they felt about possibly making it into the finale.
“I have to make it to the finals,” said Tate Stevens. He mentioned how he didn’t have mom or dad to go back to because he is dad. He also brought up how he might not have a job to go back to, making this even more crucial for him.
“We just really want to have a chance at winning,” said the members of Emblem3. “We’re ready.”
“Our families have done so much for us,” said Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony. “We want to give back.”
“I just really hope that I did enough,” said Carly Rose Sonenclar.
After hearing what the contestants had to say, the judges went right to announcing the first safe act. Much to everyone’s surprise, Fifth Harmony was the first act sent to the grand finale.
“This is absolutely phenomenal,” said Ally Hernandez of Fifth Harmony.
“I thought they were sensational last night,” said proud mentor, Simon Cowell. “I could not be happier.”
Although the girls were happy, not everyone was. When asked what she thought, judge Britney Spears said she was “a little disappointed.”
While the shock died down, Bridgit Mendler took the stage to perform her single “Ready or Not.”
When the show returned from a break, the next safe contestant was revealed and it was Tate Stevens.
“We’re here,” said a shaking Tate Stevens to his wife.
“I am a Tate Stevens fan,” said L.A. Reid in a proud moment, commenting on how before this competition he wasn’t the biggest country fan in the world.
This left group Emblem3 and Carly Rose Sonenclar to wait it out a bit longer for their fate in the competition.
“The wealth of knowledge I’ve gained in this competition is greater than the five million dollars,” said Drew of Emblem3.
While the two remaining acts waited, Bruno Mars took the stage to perform his hit single “Locked Out of Heaven.” He had the crowd rocking and dancing along.
After his performance it was back to the results. The hosts revealed that Carly Rose Sonenclar was safe, which marked the end of the road for the boys of Emblem3. Sonenclar and Cowell assured them, though, that they were going to go far.
“Emblem3, I know you’re going to go far and I can’t wait to buy your album,” said Sonenclar.
“You’re going to have a huge career,” said Cowell.
“We’re so grateful,” said Wes of Emblem3. “Our fans are so supportive and we love them to death.”
Fifth Harmony, Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar will perform in the finale next Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX.
