Zac Posen replaces Michael Kors as judge on 'Project Runway'

By Kristen Spicker,

“One day you’re in, and the next day you’re out.” Unfortunately for designer Michael Kors, he’s out for the next season of Lifetime’s Project Runway.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Designer Zac Posen, a former guest judge on the show, is slotted to take Kors' spot as a “featured judge”

“So excited to be the new judge on @ProjectRunway Season 11!! Joining @heidiklum @ninagarcia and @TimGunn.” Posen tweeted, reported by Fashionista.

Supermodel and host Heidi Klum and Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia both plan to return to the reality competition as judges, as well as mentor Tim Gunn.

Kors’ departure from the show was due to scheduling conflicts. Seasons 10 and 11 were filmed back-to-back, and the designer was unable to make all the dates required. However, viewers can expect to see Kors for the season finale.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime stated, “Always part of the Project Runway family, Michael will be seen in the future on the show, and we are excited to confirm that Michael will be back as a judge for season 11 finale.”

Other guest judges for the season include Bette Midler, Miranda Lambert, Joan and Melissa Rivers, Rachel Roy, Chris Benz and former Project Runway winner Christian Siriano.

Project Runway season 11 premieres Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.
