ABC announced the first celebrities who will compete in its new diving show, which used to be called Celebrity Diving. The network is now going with Splash as the title.
As previously reported, Miss Alabama Katherine Webb, who rose to sudden fame after getting noticed during the BCS Championship game by ESPN, will be a member of the cast. TMZ had posted pictures of Webb with Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh. Webb had reportedly been offered Dancing with the Stars, but she chose to go with the new show instead.
The rest of the contestants include:
Louie Anderson - comedian
Drake Bell - former star of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh
Chuy Bravo - Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Lately sidekick
Nicole Eggert - former petite Miss Universe who starred in several TV shows and Rich and Famous
Keshia Knight Pulliam - The Cosby Show actress
Kendra Wilkinson - reality TV star
ABC will announce two more celebrities before the show premieres on Tuesday, March 19 at 8 p.m.
Splash is actually the second celebrity diving show of the season. Fox aired Stars in Danger, a two-hour special, earlier this month. It drew 3.4 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating.
