Amanda Seyfried will portray porn star Linda Lovelace in the upcoming biopic Lovelace, and while doing her research for the role, she said she really got into it.
Seyfried had to play Lovelace, the 1970s porn star most famous for her role in Deep Throat, and she admits that it had its challenges.
“At first I'm closed up like a flower bud and then gradually the petals start to open," she explained about her character, NY Daily News reports, "and then I finally learn about myself and I learn how to enjoy sex. And I feel free!"
She has previously explained to Vogue, “We were doing a scene where I was supposed to be going down on Peter Sarsgaard," adding, "We used a popsicle, and I had my arms covering the popsicle… I was laughing hysterically throughout. I couldn't stop laughing."
Sarsgaard plays Lovelace’s ex-husband Chuck Traynor in the film, and their tumultuous relationship is portrayed. Other actors in the film are Sharon Stone, Adam Brody, and James Franco. It premiered this week at the Sundance Film Festival.
As we previously reported, the Weinstein Company’s RADiUS picked up distribution rights for the film.
