It wasn’t easy for Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming film, jOBS.
In order to prepare for the role, Kutcher followed Jobs’s fruit-only diet. The strict regimen landed Kutcher in the hospital with severe pancreatic issues, according to the Daily News.
“My pancreas levels were like completely out of whack. It was really terrifying, considering everything,” he said.
Kutcher said playing the tech icon was risky because he hasn’t been forgotten yet. Kutcher is aware of the criticism he might receive if the film doesn’t meet expectations. Filmmakers tried to be as accurate as possible and released a disclaimer at the end of the credits saying some portions of the film are not totally accurate, the Huffington Post reports.
Kutcher wanted the role of Jobs because he admired the man who created devices we use every day.
“I admire this man so much and what he’s done. I admire the way he built things,” he said. “This guy created a tool that we use every day in our life, and he believed in it when nobody else did.”
