It seems Beyonce has some explaining to do as it has been revealed that the Grammy award winning singer opted for a pre-recorded track in which she lip-synced the “Star Spangled Banner” instead of singing it live.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Marine Corp Band revealed to TMZ that Beyonce opted to mouth the studio version rather than perform it live. A pre-recorded version is standard procedure for a live event, but is usually not used so many are questioning why she opted to lip the version instead of attempting the iconic song herself.
Kelly Clarkson on the other had did not lip-synch “My Country, Tis of Thee.”
"We all know Beyonce can sing ... We don't know why she chose to use the pre-recorded track,” the rep notes.
Clarkson’s stellar performance received rave reviews among viewers, especially from President Obama and New York Sen. Chuck Schumer who took the podium and proclaimed “Wow.”
