While jazz might be the focus of the prestigious New Orleans Jazz Festival, it often attracts classic rock acts looking to perform in the Big Easy. This year, the lineup includes Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac, as well as Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5 and John Mayer.
Organizers announced the full lineup today. Other major artists slated to perform include B.B. King, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys, Willie Nelson, Patti Smith and Little Big Town.
This year’s festival runs from April 26-28 and May 2-5. Tickets and VIP packages are already available. At the moment, advance adult tickets are $45 and $65 at the gate. Among the VIP Passes is the Krewe of Jazz Fest, which goes for $550 the first weekend and $600 for the second. It includes access to an exclusive area to view all the action at the Acura Stage.
According to USA Today, the annual festival typically attracts 450,000 fans who enjoy local jazz, gospel, soul, Cajun and zydeco along with the bigger, international acts.
As Billboard notes, last year’s festival was packed with just as many big-name acts, including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, the Eagles and Foo Fighters.
