Although Morrissey was supposed to play a gig in Flint, Michigan, Thursday, the singer was unexpectedly taken to the hospital.
Billboard reports that Morrissey is currently being treated at William Beaumont Hospital in nearby Royal Oak, Michigan. The cause of the former Smiths front man’s sudden illness is suspected to be a bladder infection.
In addition to the cancellation in Flint, Morrissey has been forced to postpone his weekend concerts in Minneapolis and Chicago, according to E! Online. The Flint show itself was already a rescheduled concert from his last tour, when he had to postpone due to his mother’s illness. Luckily, all Flint fans were given a full refund.
This is not the first hospitalization for the Brit as TheCelebrityCafe.com previously reported on his collapse on stage back in 2009. Apparently, he was having breathing problems and had to be checked in over night.
Although there has been no confirmation as to Morrissey’s current health status, it is expected that his tour will resume on Monday, according to Billboard.
