Veteran actor Burt Reynolds is fighting off flu symptoms in a Florida hospital successfully, his representative said on Saturday.
TheCelebrityCafe.com reported this week that Reynolds was transferred to a Florida hospital’s intensive care unit after feeling dehydrated and suffering from flu symptoms. However, it appears he is slowly recuperating.
CNN his fever has gone down and his overall condition has improved.
“He is feeling better,” Reynolds’s representative Evan Kritzer said, predicting the actor will be released from the hospital on Monday.
However, Kritzer has declined to tell media outlets what hospital the actor is in for privacy reasons.
Reynolds is a legendary actor, who broke out in the 1950s playing Quint on the television show Gunsmoke.
Other classic films from Reynolds’s catalogue include Deliverance and The Longest Yard, which was remade in 2005 with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. He was critically acclaimed for his role in Boogie Nights, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
His most recent film role was the 2012 animated film Archer.
