Amanda Peet turns 41 this Friday.
Born on Jan. 11, 1972 in New York, Amanda Peet is a versatile film and TV actress. She studied history at Columbia University, where she auditioned for acting teacher Uta Hagen. Later she decided to become an actress and spent four years studying acting with Hagen.
She played several supporting roles in films and TV series. She guest-starred on shows like Law & Order, and she was cast as Jack Barrett in Jack & Jill which lasted for two seasons. She received wider recognition and fame by playing Jill St. Clair in the comedy film The Whole Nine Yards co-starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry in 2000. In the same year, she was voted one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world by People Magazine.
After this, she appeared in a variety of films, including romantic comedy Something’s Gotta Give in 2003, A Lot like Love in 2005, thriller Identity in 2003 and Syriana in 2005 and the adventure drama 2012 in 2009.
Her latest film is the comedy film Identity Thief with Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. This film will open on Feb. 8, 2013.
