Charlie Sheen continues to show his generous side to the world by paying for photographer Chris Guerra’s funeral.
Guerra, 29, died after being struck by a vehicle on New Year’s Day when he was trying to photograph Justin Bieber’s Ferrari when police had stopped the car. He had reportedly been trying to catch the pop star smoking pot, but Bieber was not in the car at the time. Bieber sent is thoughts and prayers to the family and said that he hoped the incident would lead to strict laws to “protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
TMZ reports that Sheen is actually friends with another photographer who knew Guerra. Sheen found out that his family was having trouble raising the money for the funeral, so he leapt into action. He wrote the family a $12,000 check.
“A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It's an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future,” the Anger Management star said. “As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”
This is just the latest act of kindness for Sheen, who famously sent Lindsay Lohan a $100,000 check to help her pay taxes. In December, he also donated to a local California police department’s foundation to help a little girl fight cancer.
