After a rough week in the media, Chris Brown has left Instagram over criticism of a painting he posted likening himself to a crucified Jesus.
Earlier, we reported that Frank Ocean wants to press charges against Brown for allegedly assaulting him outside of a Hollywood studio over the weekend. And the reason for the brawl? A parking spot.
After the fight, Brown uploaded a drawing on Instagram of Jesus on the cross with the captain: “Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!” reports The Sun.
A public backlash against the singer’s comparison may have been the final straw for Brown, who posted one final message to his millions of followers before deleting his Instagram: “Social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I'm detaching myself from that world.”
This wasn’t the first time Chris has sought to escape the virtual world. Last year, MTV notes he deleted his Twitter after he got into a heated and vulgar argument with comedian Jenny Johnson, who was enraged he was not more apologetic about the way he treated Rihanna.
