Chris Brown has taken the steps to re-focus on his music career by turning his Instagram account from public to private.
The decision comes after his highly publicized brawl with fellow singer Frank Ocean. The two engaged in a heated brawl over the weekend, allegedly over a parking spot. And while the rapper is under investigation for the incident, Brown further sparked controversy when he posted a picture of Jesus on the cross on Instagram, captioning the photo, “The way I feel today.”
According to MTV, reports that Brown changed his Instagram from public to private on Tuesday following the controversy, eliminating roughly 2 million followers.
“Social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I'm detaching myself from that world,” he posted before tuning out the public world.
Brown has cut the world off via social media before. He deleted his Twitter account following a spat with comedian Jenny Johnson, and prior to that deleted his account after he beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Both times he later re-registered the accounts.
