The trailer for Inside Llewyn Davis is one of the most anticipated films of 2013 and it doesn’t have a distributor or a U.S. release date. Still, the first trailer for the film has hit the web and already has fans of Joel and Ethan Coen’s work eager to see more.
Inside Llewyn Davis stars Drive’s Oscar Isaac as a fictional folk singer in the 1960s, trying to get that big break.
The Huffington Post notes that Isaac is clearly the star in this film, but the supporting cast is filled with notable names like Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham and Garrett Hedlund. It has been rumored that the film is loosely based on the life of singer Dave Van Ronk.
The Bob Dylan song heard in the background is “Farewell.”
According to Indiewire’s Thompson on Hollywood, the trailer was included on an invite to see a special preview of the film next month. It was also posted on the film’s official site.
Inside Llewyn Davis was produced by the Coens with Scott Rudin, who worked with them on True Grit and also co-produced The Social Network. Canal Plus co-produced the film. Despite the star power attached, there is no domestic distributor yet, but finding one shouldn’t take long.
