'Dance Moms' is back and more dramatic than ever

By Allie Garver,

After weeks of seeing a Flash Dance- themed promo for Dance Moms, season three finally premiered last night on Lifetime.

Even though the show seems like it should be set in Los Angeles or New York, all the drama unfolds in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Abby Lee, the maniac dance instructor, is back along with the high maintenance moms of the dancers. Abby seems to take the limelight away from everyone on the show with her bigger than life personality, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The dancing takes a backseat to the drama that is constant between the moms and Abby, even though there would be no show without the dancing. The girls: Maddie, Mackenzie, Chloe, Nia, Kendall, Paige, and Brooke take verbal abuse from Abby on a daily basis. They do become better dancers for it, even if Abby’s teaching techniques seem to be a bit drastic.

On the season premiere of Dance Moms, Kelly decided not to take her girls back to the studio for class, which brought about an open audition for a new member on the national winning dance team. But if a new girl comes in to the group that means a new mom comes with her…enter drama-filled episode. The four moms do not play nicely when new meat is dangled in front of them and Christi took to her Twitter during the show writing “Blah, blah, blah. I miss Kelly.”

With new drama and the possibility of a new mom or two coming into the group, the show is sure to be everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure.

The Dance Moms cast can be found at here, along with full episodes, photos, and links to follow Abby as well as the moms on Twitter.
