Demi Lovato has been through a lot in her life. The singer, actress, and season two X Factor judge is only 20 years old, but she has already fought many battles. On New Year’s Eve, Demi reflected on her past and was proud of the path she is taking for the future.
“So crazy to look back and reflect on how much has changed this last year... I wonder what will happen in 2013?!” she tweeted. “Two years ago, I watched the ball drop on TV in rehab and cried my eyes out. Tonight I'm on the beach with my closest, most loyal friends sipping coffee and sharing how beautiful life is and how far we've come. Recovery is a beautiful thing friends.. Life is good, God is great!”
Demi, as many know, spent a few months in a treatment facility in 2010 after she had suffered with personal issues such as an eating disorder and cutting for many years. The “Give Your Heart a Break” singer has since become a positive voice for young people, and on New Year’s, she had a reminder for them.
“NYE is about celebrating the past year and the year to come.. Set goals and dream big… just reminding teens out there that you don't have to drink on NYE to have fun. Be the difference,” she added.
Demi Lovato, overall, had a very happy holiday. She had “the best Christmas I've ever had” at home in Texas with family, then, her happiness really shined through.
"I don't know what's better...Being healthy and really happy, or people noticing how healthy and really happy you are?" she wrote, according to E! News. "It's just surreal. “I never knew this kind of happiness existed.”
