Member Michelle Williams is now saying no, no, no to a previously reported Super Bowl reunion performance of Destiny’s Child at Beyoncé’s Feb. 3 halftime show at the New Orleans Superdome.
Former member Williams said the reports confirmed by multiple sources for Us Weekly were “not true,” she recently told WRUG Media.
“I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true,” Williams told WRUG. “I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. But we did record a song with each other before the holidays,” referring to the group’s new Pharrell-produced release, “Nuclear.”
Williams, who has made a second career on the theater stage post-DC, is currently starring in musical Fela!, though the show’s official website says Williams will not be appearing Jan. 31-Feb. 3.
Reports surfaced several weeks ago that bandmates Kelly Rowland and Williams would join halftime show headliner Beyoncé after she performs “Crazy In Love” for a medley of their hits, followed by a performance of “Nuclear,” their first song in eight years.
In the meantime, Beyoncé has released a couple Instagrams of her rehearsals for what is expected to be a huge production, according to E! Online.
