Disney hires a screenwriter for the fifth ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

Captain Jack is back. It is official now. Disney hired Jeff Nathanson to be the screenwriter for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.


The new writer, Jeff Nathanson is noted for Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal. His works also include Rush Hour 3 and Men in Black 3. He is currently working the script for The 39 Clues: The Movie, which is an adaptation of a series of adventure novels and will be released in 2014, reports Variety.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide. The fourth Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides didn’t receive as much praise as the franchise did, but still has grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.

It is confirmed that Johnny Depp will be back as Captain Jack and Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the film. Other than that, we don’t know who the director is and whether other actors from past installments will be back, reports Cinemablend.com .
