Comedian Bill Maher appeared on The Tonight show with Jay Leno Monday, poking fun at Donald Trump. During the interview, Maher joked that he would give a charity of Trump’s choice $5 million if Trump could prove that he wasn’t the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” Trump did just that, sending his birth certificate in an open letter to Maher and demanding that he follow through.
Trump’s lawyer, Scott S. Balber, sent a letter to Maher that was obtained by Yahoo, writing, “Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan.”
Balber continued, “Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”
Of course, Trump himself has tweeted about it, writing, “I hope @billmaher pays quickly so that this money can immediately be given to the charities.”

Trump made headlines during the presidential race, continuing to request that President Obama release his birth certificate. He famously claimed that he had a “big announcement,” which just turned out to be an offer to donate $5 million to any charity of Obama’s choice if the President released college records and other documents.
The Celebrity Apprentice host also went on a Twitter rant after Obama won re-election, which also raised some eyebrows.
