Actress Elizabeth Hurley showed us that being a celebrity is not all fun and games when she was caught on film in an ugly exchange with an Australian journalist.
Hurley was at an airport in Perth Monday morning with her fiancé, bowler Shane Warne, according to Stuff.
Warne’s game Wednesday resulted in a loss for his team, the Melbourne Stars, to the Perth Scorchers. However, Caty Price, a journalist for Network Ten, attempted to get the couple’s thoughts on the team’s loss.
This prompted an angry response from the British actress.
”He (Warne) was pretty tight-lipped coming in, and did not say much, and then Liz clipped the back of my heels, and said ‘Don’t you know it is rude to stand in front of people’, which is fair enough … Then I asked her what she thought of the game last night, she spun around on her heels, and mouthed close up to my face ‘I think you should f*** off.’ ‘She did another spin, flick of the hair and strutted off with Shane,” Price later said.
Hurley’s words prompted Price not to ask the couple anything else.
This adds to more drama for Warne, who was already cited for a slow over-rate violation. He was not officially listed as captain for the loss at Wednesday’s game.
Cricket Australia said that Warne should be blamed because, according the CA, he had breached “Rule 5: Laws of Cricket and Spirit of the Game.”
CA went on to state that is a captain is selected by not named, this may lead to a Code of Behaviour charge.
Yahoo reported that a hearing is pending.
