Emma Watson stopped by U.S customs agents at JFK airport

By Allie Garver,

The 22-year-old Harry Potter heroine was stopped at JFK airport before Christmas by customs agents. They thought she was an unaccompanied minor and questioned the young actress.

Watson became famous when chosen to play Hermione Granger, the intelligent yet brave, female witch in the Harry Potter movie series.

After the small incident with customs, Watson promptly posted on her Twitter account:

“Passport control:'unaccompanied minor?'
Passport control:'where is ur guardian?'
Me:'I'm 22!!!!!!!'”

Watson then posted another tweet saying, “The really sad thing is that this is not the first time this has happened.”

Although Watson is known for portraying a young geeky witch, she has started to spread her adult wings from the Harry Potter series since the last movie came out in 2011. She landed the more mature role of Sam in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and, according to Daily news, “Back in October, the youthful Watson gave a very grown-up interview to Glamour.”

Emma Watson has grown up in front of millions of Harry Potter fans and some will always see her as Hermione Granger, young magician. With more movies in the works, Watson is sure to have a bright acting career full of mature roles. Hopefully for her, this will be the last time she is confused for a child, no matter if she's in or out of an airport.
