Hunger Games fans, the odds are ever in your favor as the first picture of Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair in Catching Fire has surfaced.
Entertainment Weekly provides viewers the first semi-inside look into the sequel, which will feature Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Katniss, alongside Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, being thrown back into the Games for the 75th Quarter Quell.
Claflin’s Finnick is seen standing slightly behind Katniss with fire and darkness looming with the words, “Katniss and Finnick Go to War” written at the bottom, for the cover of the newest edition of Entertainment Weekly which hits stores Friday.
The film is currently in its final production stages and EW sat down with Lawrence, new director Francis Lawrence, as well as Claflin to get a feel of what he found to be the scariest moment on set. So what did he reveal? Almost everything, in fact, as in one scene Finnick’s character is seen wearing nothing but a strategically placed piece of netting to cover his unmentionables, a costume Claflin has deemed “the scariest moment of my life.” He adds, “I’m on Twitter and so many people have been like ‘Don’t mess this up, or we will kill you.’”
Screenplay written by Sam Simon Beaufoy and Michael Arndt, based on the Suzanne Collins novel, Catching Fire hit theaters Nov. 21, 2013.
