Frank Ocean had his license confiscated by police after he was found in possession of marijuana on New Year’s Eve.
Frank Ocean has had a monumental year. He released his debut album Channel Orange which includes chart-topping singles like “Thinking About You” in July. His smooth, sultry sound has received wide acclaim and praise from critics and viewers alike. USA Today has named Channel Orange album of the year and Ocean is also nominated for six Grammy Awards including best new artist and best album.
Unfortunately, he has started the year on a sour note. According to TMZ, police stopped Frank Ocean in Mono County, Calif., on New Year’s Eve for speeding. He had allegedly been driving 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. However, officers noticed the smell of pot as they neared his vehicle.
Their suspicions were confirmed when they discovered a small bag of weed on him. Cops cited him for possession of marijuana, tinted windows and driving on a suspended license. His passenger had to drive him home after police took away his license.
