Oscar-winner Geena Davis is heading back to TV. This time, she’ll play a bounty hunter in a pilot in development at TNT.
Davis will star as quirky, real-life bounty hunter Mackenzie Green, who is also an unconventional bail bondswoman. She uses unusual tactics, which help her out in the unpredictable business of catching criminals. Dean Devlin, whose Leverage was just cancelled by the network after five seasons, will direct the pilot for the untitled series, reports Deadline.
The series will be produced by Devlin’s Electric Entertainment with Ternion Productions and 3 Arts. Scott Prendergast and Leverage writer Amy Berg co-write the script. Berg and Devlin will also oversee the show and executive produce with Davis, Prendergast, John Altschuler, Dave Krinsky, Tom Lassally and Michael Rotenberg.
Entertainment Weekly notes that this will mark Davis’ first regular series role since ABC’s Commander in Chief, which lasted just one season. She also had a short-lived comedy The Geena Davis Show and starred in last year’s A&E miniseries Coma.
Davis won her Oscar for The Accidental Tourist and is best known for film roles like Beetlejuice and A League of Their Own. She’s also slated to appear in In a World...
TNT also picked up Murder In The First this week and several unscripted shows to add to its schedule.
