Chalking it up to differences of opinion, Nicki Minaj and her longtime hairstylist and wig creator, Terrence Davidson, have gone their separate ways.
Rapper Nicki Minaj’s outrageous colored wigs and hairstyles have been the topic of conversation since her rise to fame. However, many may have been unaware of the man behind those controversial ‘dos for the past three years: Terrence Davidson.
Recently, MTV reported that Davidson and Minaj have had “creative differences” and have decided to no longer collaborate. But, that does not mean Davidson thinks any less of Minaj as a person or an artist.
In fact, in a post- “break-up” interview related by The International Business Times, Davidson continued to hold her in high regard.
"I would like to inform the media and supporters that I've decided to step away as hair stylist and wig creator for Nicki Minaj," Davidson admitted. "It has been an amazing experience offering me a chance to express my creativity and exhibit my love for the art form of wig design. I have decided to part ways from Nicki Minaj because I would like to explore other opportunities within my own brand and re-energize my creativity through work in fashion editorial, beauty consultations, media personality, ‘how-to’ lectures and hair show development.”
He concluded his statement with his hopes of continuing involvment within the hair industry. He is looking forward to the future projects that are to come for him.
No response from Minaj about the ‘hair-raising’ incident.
Her first episode as a judge on American Idol is set to premiere this Wednesday night. She is currently on a press tour for the TV show, and spoke to Jay Leno about her Idol debut Monday night.
