ABC is hoping that Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers behind The Hangover, can duplicate their success on the small screen. The network put in a pilot order for a new project from the duo called Mixology.
According to Deadline, the series would be produced by ABC Studios. The high-concept, since camera comedy would take place at a sexy Manhattan bar where a group of singles are looking for love. Lucas and Moore apparently try to keep the story going within a single, 24-hour time frame, similar to the first Hangover movie.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Mixology has some competition at ABC for future comedy slots on ABC, since it is the fourth pilot order for the network.
The network has ordered pilots for Adam F. Goldberg’s How The Hell Am I Normal, Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night and Trophy Wife with Bradley Whitford.
Lucas and Moore just finished work on 21 and Over, their first film as both writers and directors. It’s set to hit theaters on March 1 and stars Miles Teller, Justin Chon and Jonathan Keltz.
They also co-wrote The Change-Up and the second Hangover film.
