Happy 32nd birthday, Elijah Wood!
Elijah Jordan Wood, who was born into a delicatessen operators' family in Iowa, started having media exposure by modeling and acting in local commercials at the age of seven.
The Woods then moved to Los Angeles, where Elijah Wood got his first break in Paula Abdul's music video - an initial stepping stone for him to establish his acting career even more.
He played an extra in Back to the Future II and an important role in Child of the Night.
In that point, Wood had not received any attentions for his acting, until he acted in Avalon, for which was critically acclaimed. The film earned four Academy Awards nominations.
He continued starring in films, having Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, and Jamie Lee Curtis as his co-stars.
In 1994, he was nominated as Young Star Awards for his role in The War with Kevin Costner, and was called the best actor in his age group by a movie critic.
In the early 2000s, Wood signed a contract that made him famous worldwide - a role as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
After the The Lord of the Rings movies, he acted in several other movies, even lent his voice to be in an Academy Award animation Happy Feet as Mumble.
Having to love music as much as he loved acting, Wood established a recording studio named Simian Records, spinning as DJ in several events, and playing several instruments in a The Lord of the Rings co-star, Viggo Mortensen's album.
Other than lending his voice in Happy Feet, he also dubbed as Spyro the Dragon in Legend of Spyro video games trilogy.
As a member of The Lord of the Rings cast, Elijah Wood acquired a tattoo that said "nine" in Tengwar script.
