Jason Bateman turned 44 today!
The American actor, who earned a lot of awards for playing Michael Bluth in Arrested Development, was the son of Kent Bateman, actor, director, and the founder of repertory stage in Hollywood.
Bateman began his career at an early age as James Cooper in Little House on the Prairie, an orphaned boy, who was adopted by the Ingalls family.
After appearing as an extra in a few television series, such as Silver Spoons, and Knight Rider, Bateman earned the status of teen idol of the 1980s for his television work, most notably The Hogan Family.
He became the youngest member of the Director Guild of America at the age of 18, when he helmed three episodes of The Hogan Family.
Bateman then appeared in Arrested Development, a point where his career led him to win a Golden Globe award and an Emmy award.
Having his acting credibility in television, Bateman continued his career by appearing in movies, such as Juno, Horrible Bosses, and Paul.
Three years ago, Bateman and his costar in Arrested Development Will Arnett created DumbDumb Productions, a production company concentrating on digital content. Their first video was Prom Date.
Bateman married Paul Anka's daughter Amanda Anka in 2010, and they had two daughters together.
