Liberty Ross files for a divorce from her husband, Rupert Sanders

Six months have passed since the headlines that swept over magazines, detailing Rupert Sanders' affair with Kristen Stewart and now, his wife, Liberty Ross, is filing for a divorce.

NY Daily News reports that Ross is not pulling any punches. In addition to the divorce, she is also vying for joint custody of their two children (who are aged five and seven). Sanders would be expected to pay spousal support as well as legal fees if she wins her side of the divorce. Contrarily, Sanders does not wish to pay any support and wishes to cut the costs of legal fees with his now estranged wife. He has agreed on the point of joint custody, however.

Ross will be backed by Laura Wesser, a celebrity attorney who has handled many a legal case--such as Britney Spears, Ryan Renolds, and Kim Kardashian, to name a few.

The Examiner states that the couple had attempted counseling as a method to save their marriage from crumbling. It was unsuccessful, however, and the divorce was officially filed and the legaility of the issue will move forwards.

Sanders had been the director of the film Snow White and the Huntsman, who had worked closely with Stewart during the filming of the movie. Despite the rockiness of Sanders' marriage, it would seem that Stewart and her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, are on better terms and appear to have patched their relationship with one another.
