She was 82 years old. Hefner announced her passing on Twitter, US Weekly reports.

He Tweeted: “Mary passed away today. We loved her more than words can say.”

According to friends, Hefner is “devastated” over her death. O’Connor worked with Hefner for over 40 years and became his confidant. O’Connor made frequent appearances on his E! show, The Girls Next Door.

The cause of her death isn’t known and the mansion is struggling to cope with the loss.

The Playboy mogul credited O’Connor with helping him reconcile with Crystal Harris after she called off the wedding in 2011. O’Connor told Crystal to write to Hefner, and she did.

Hefner and Harris married at the Playboy Mansion on New Year’s Eve, the San Francisco Gate reports.

“Captain Bob,” O’Connor’s husband, passed away nine months ago.

Former Girls Next Door star took to Twitter to express her condolences.

“RIP Mary O’Connor. She was an amazing person who helped me through so much. But I know she’s happy with her boo Captain Bob.”
