On Monday, January 14, the wrestler known as Hulk Hogan filed a lawsuit under his real name, Terry Bollea, against the Laser Spine Institute based in Tampa Bay, Fla.
According to The Associated Press, Hogan seeks damages of $50 million, claiming the institute misrepresented their procedures and caused damage to his career.
After receiving the surgery with no results, Hogan is arguing that the Laser Spine Institute sold him on "minimally invasive" techniques that were never going to be effective.
As reported by the Tampa Bay Times, one of Hogan’s underlying arguments against the Laser Spine Institute is the three surgeons Hogan saw previous to his decision to go the laser surgery route suggested he get open lumbar spinal fusion surgery instead, a procedure not offered by Laser Spine Institute.
In addition to claiming the surgeries made him miss out on future professional wrestling opportunities, Hogan also states in the lawsuit that the Institute was using Hogan as an unofficial endorsement for their clinic without written consent.
