Vittorio Missoni, an Italian fashion mogul, was reportedly missing after his private plane disappeared in the sea of Venezuela.
According to ABC News, rescuers were out on coast and air for thorough searching for the plane carrying the man credited for turning his father’s fashion house to a global empire of business that included housewares, hospitality, and bicycles.
The 58-year-old left the remote area of the Los Roques archipelago on Friday in a small plane with five other people, including his wife Maurizia Castiglioni, E! News stated.
Just 30 minutes after takeoff, the plane disappeared in the Caribbean and never reached its destination.
“We are relying on the work of the Farnesina [Italy's foreign ministry] and all the institutions involved, to whom we are grateful for the prompt activities in the research. As more information becomes available the company will issue further statements," Missoni Fashion House said in a statement in E!.
Currently, Luca Missoni, Vittorio's brother, had been going back and forth to Venezuela to monitor the search operation, as stated in ABC.
