The upcoming film version of The Great Gatsby will reportedly have musical contributions from music star Jay-Z.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the trailer for the movie, directed by Baz Luhrmann, has music from “No Church in the Wild,” the 2011 work Jay-Z created with Kanye West.
"Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!,” musician/Bullitts member Jeymes Samuel tweeted Monday.
However, Warner Bros., which will release the movie, had previously announced that Craig Armstrong will compose music for Gatsby. Hence, it is not known how much Jay-Z will contribute to the movie. Armstrong has composed the music for several of Luhrmann’s movies.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Prince and Lady Gaga may also contribute songs to the movie’s soundtrack.
The movie, based on the book of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald, stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is set for release May 10.
The book was previously adapted for the big screen in 1974 and starred Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.
