Even with the series finale of NBC’s The Office approaching this year, Jenna Fischer still remembers her audition with now on-screen hubby John Krasinski.
According to People, Fischer shared an anecdote on The Jeff Probst Show Thursday regarding the final audition process, in which the actress was in the mix of potential Pams being matched with four possible Jims.
"I was paired up with John often and I thought this was good because he was my favorite Jim,” Fischer recalled. “On the second day, John whispered to me, 'You're my favorite Pam. I hope you get it.'"
On receiving word that she had gotten the part, the first thought on the actress’ mind was who had been chosen to play Pam’s love interest.
"When they called me and said I got the role, I said, 'Who's Jim – did you cast John Krasinski?'" she commented. "They said, 'Yes' and I started crying because I knew it would be good. And I mean this honestly – I can't do Pam without him. In the way you need the right partner to have a great marriage, I needed the right costar to have this relationship.”
During a recent TCA press conference on The Office set, Rolling Stone reported that Krasinski shared his thoughts on the series as a whole.
"I've felt more honored to be part of this show than anything else I've done,” he said.
