Jennifer Lawrence wins Best Actress Awards - flu or no flu

By Alexi Knock,

Jennifer Lawrence has officially earned her place at the top of the celebrity food chain during her first major awards season as she finds a place to put her Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

The actress, who has been getting over the flu, took home the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor Sunday night in floor-length navy gown.

Lawrence thanked MTV in her acceptance speech, explaining that her role in a Super Sweet Sixteen commercial landed her in the Screen Actors Guild.

Lawrence has been gaining much recognition for her role as Tiffany, the crazy widow in Silver Linings Playbook.

The 22-year-old already took home a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy two weeks ago as she wrapped herself in a light blue blazer to keep warm due to her illness.

Silver Linings Playbook isn’t the only film putting Lawrence in the spotlight. She took home the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actress for her role in The Hunger Games.

On Saturday, Lawrence was too sick with pneumonia according to The Daily News to attend the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards in Hollywood. Her Silver Linings.costar Jacki Weaver accepted her Best Actress award on her behalf.

Lawrence is also nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. Sick or not, this young actress is sweeping awards shows and sniffling along the way.
