Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with backup dancer Casper Smart appears to be getting more intense by the day, but the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer explains that since her divorce from Marc Anthony she living in the moment with her new younger beau.
Lopez opened up about her blossoming relationship as well as divorce with Gayle King on CBS This Morning, E! News reports. The 43-year-old singer explains, “I've always looked at relationships for the future. Where is it going? Are we getting married? But now I'm like, maybe it's OK to just be in the moment. Maybe it's OK to enjoy this for right now. Who knows where it's going? There's love here. Relax."
The former American Idol judge notes the toughest part of the new relationship is attempting to console four-year-old twins Max and Emme about why their father isn’t around all of the time.
She explains, “It wasn't until recently they started going, 'Where's Daddy?' And I'm like, 'I'm going to explain it to you when you're bigger because you're not going to understand it right now.' And they'll take that.”
Continuing she notes, “And I said, 'But here's what I do know. Mommy and Max and Emme are always going to be there. Mommy's always going to be there. Mommy's not going anywhere.' And that comforts them a little."
Following her departure from American Idol, Lopez has since landed a role in the Taylor Hackford directed film Parker alongside Jason Statham and Michael Chiklis.
