This year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be filled with stars from the music industry, just like previous years. John Mayer, Don Henley, Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera are just a few of the stars recruited to welcome the 2013 class.
The 2013 class, announced last month, includes Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Donna Summer, Heart, Rush and Albert King. Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Lifetime Achievement Award.
Today, the Rock Hall announced that Gary Clark, Jr. will perform for King, while Mayer will give the induction speech. Henley will be on hand to induct Newman, while Aguilera and Hudson will pay tribute to the late Disco queen Summer. Foo Fighters members Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl will perform together to honor Rush.
More performers and presenters will be announced soon.
The ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on April 18. Tickets will be available to American Express cardholders starting next week. Special tickets will be available for the Heart and Rush fan clubs.
For those who can’t make it, HBO will broadcast the ceremony on May 18 at 9 p.m.
