Following Josh Brolin’s arrest over the New Year, the Gangster Squad actor dons the cover of Men’s Journal, in which he reveals some incredibly personal details as well as his early introduction to drugs.
Brolin is featured on the cover of the February issue and discusses his reaction to the Colorado massacre (which in turn delayed the opening of Gangster Squad as it featured its own movie theater shooting), losing his virginity at age 11 and his early introduction to heroin.
According to Us Weekly, he explains, “I was the last [gang member] to get into heroin -- I smoked it -- and the first to get out. I was around 16 or 17, so it was around the time of The Goonies. But I liked working and learning, so it was very difficult for me to lend myself to that drug completely."
Brolin attempted to walk away from a life a crime, noting that he used to steal car radios. "I could pop the detail with a coat hanger real easy. I got very good at it. I can still do it today,” Brolin states.
The 44-year-old actor adds that he lost his virginity at the young age of eleven, noting that he became a “goon” and a “intimidator”
Brolin’s interview in Men’s Journal is in stores now.
