Universal Studio announced on Friday that Jurassic Park 4 will be released on June 13, 2014.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Steven Spielberg, the director of the first two films of the franchise, will not be the director, but will produce it with Frank Marshall. The director and the cast are not yet sure. Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will be responsible for the screenplay.
The film plans to shoot and release in 3D. The first Jurassic Park is converted to 3D and will be re-released in theater on April 5 this year to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary.
The Jurassic Park franchise was a big success. The three movies together have grossed around $2 billion worldwide to date, reported Yahoo. A Jurassic Park themed ride is also inspired by the film at Universal Studios Hollywood.
It will be a heated competition in summer of 2014. It is confirmed that the next Spider-Man and Planet of the Apes Movie will be released on May, while the next Transformers and X-men movies on July, reported Yahoo.
