Justin Bieber to host and perform on 'Saturday Night Live'

By Lauren Weitz,

It’s official. Justin Bieber will be taking over our televisions on Feb. 9 when he will be both hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live.

The singer hinted at the SNL gig and teased fans over Twitter on Monday Jan. 7. “Maybe I’m hosting and performing on SNL...maybe. :),” stated the tweet sent by Bieber.

On Tuesday Jan. 8, a source confirmed to Billboard that the Biebs will be appearing on the sketch comedy show in just a month.

Bieber will be promoting his new album, Believe Acoustic, which hits stores Jan. 29.

This will not be his first time on the late night comedy show. He appeared on SNL as the musical guest back in April 2010 where he performed “U Smile” and played a teacher’s pet in a sketch with host Tina Fey. "It was fun, just acting [with Fey]," Bieber said to MTV News after appearing on the show. "It was cool to get to be a part of SNL."
