Justin Bieber named king of Twitter, surpasses Lady Gaga

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Justin Bieber has become the most followed person on Twitter with 33,339,486 followers, beating out Mother Monster's 33,328,937 followers.

E! News reports that the 18-year-old “Boyfriend” singer surpassed Lady Gaga, who once held the crown of most Twitter followers.

It is unclear what spawned more Bielebers, but reports are pointing to the possibility of the young pop-singer's tweeted-and-deleted butt picture, in addition to speculation that he is smoking marijuana, an allegation he never directly addressed.

The teen heartthrob’s breakup with on-again off-again singer/actress Selena Gomez has also sparked much news for the singer as well as his mother’s upcoming anti-abortion film.

Bieber fans are also eagerly anticipating the re-release of Believe, which will feature old favorites in addition to new songs, all in acoustic.

Thus far, the Twitter friendly singers have not tweeted about the change of titles. E! notes that Gaga still remains the queen of Facebook with 54.98 million likes to the Biebs’ 50.66.
