Justin Bieber opened up about his break-up with Selena Gomez and the new songs on his soon-to-be-released acoustic album.
According to MTV, Bieber’s new acoustic album will be released this Tuesday. The 11 song track-list features eight hits from his 2012 Believe album like “As Long as You Love Me,” “Beauty and a Beat,” and “Boyfriend” as well as three new songs: “Yellow Raincoat,” “Nothing Like You,” and “I Would.”
In fact, Justin tweeted that this album was some of the “most honest music” he has written and recorded to date and has been counting down the days until its release since it was announced in December.
Bieber spoke with Billboard Magazine about a few of the tracks and his recent split with Selena Gomez.
Bieber mentioned that despite not logging onto certain websites, he hears about all of the gossip surrounding him and his former flame Gomez from other sources.
“There's so many rumors. People say I call Selena every day and she won't pick up the phone or I'm chasing her down, and these are all fake stories,” he told Billboard.
One of the new songs on his acoustic album, “Nothing Like Us,” was a late addition he added after he and Gomez broke up. However, the song has a more melancholy tone than an angry one.
“Because at the end of the day, there's nothing like us, you know? That's just it. It is what it is. People are going to relate to that.”
Bieber further admits to Billboard that he still hurting from the break-up, but his friends are helping him work through his emotions.
“I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been. I'm trying to get through what I'm going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”
At the end of the day, Bieber’s main goal is to stay true to himself and continue to write music that his fans appreciate.
Despite recent allegations of assault, when asked if he would change anything from the past few years, Bieber concluded, “I don’t have any regrets. I learn the hard way.”
