Justin Bieber passes Lady Gaga for most Twitter followers

Lady Gaga and her Little Monsters are a tough crowd to beat, but Justin Bieber and his Beliebers seem to have done it – at least in the Twitter world.

According to MTV, Bieber officially lapped Gaga in Twitter followers, with his total number standing 33,326,187 (as of Tuesday morning). Gaga has 33,323,802.

Gaga first took the Twitter crown in 2010 when she passed Britney Spears. Katy Perry is now currently at third with 31,484,156, and Rihanna is at fourth with 27,946,832.

Gaga seems to be alright with Bieber’s rising number of followers, however, as she recently tweeted:

According to BBC News, the Little Monsters are still the winners when it comes to Facebook followers, giving Gaga just below 55 million ‘Likes’, while Bieber has about 50 million likes.

Bieber will release his new album Believe Acoustic on Jan. 29. The album is set to feature some of Bieber’s biggest hits in an acoustic version, including “As Long as You Love Me,” “Boyfriend” and “Beauty and a Beat.”
