Justin Bieber is a little heartbroken following his breakup with Selena Gomez, but it’s nothing music can’t heal.
The 18-year-old opened up to Billboard about the split and also put to rest some of the crazy rumors.
"There's so many rumors. People say I call Selena every day and she won't pick up the phone or I'm chasing her down, and these are all fake stories,” he said, explaining he doesn’t read the gossip, but it’s brought to his attention. “I don't go on blogs or anything like that. I hear things. People tell me if something happens on the Internet. It gets back to me, definitely.”
When it comes to the truth about the breakup, Bieber is a little hurt.
"I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been,” he said. “I'm trying to get through what I'm going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.”
Of course, Bieber also has music. He just released a new acoustic album, and on it is the breakup song, “Nothing Like Us” about his breakup with Gomez.
In the song he sings , “I gave you everything baby/everything I had to give/girl why would you push me away?/ yeah, lost in confusion/like an illusion/you know I'm used to making your day/but that is the past now/ We didn't last now/I guess that this is meant to be.”
In the chorus he sings, “There's nothing like us/There's nothing like you and me/Together through the storms/There's nothing like us/There's nothing like you and me, together.”
While he has turned to music during his tough time, he says he has no regrets.
“I don't have any regrets. I live and I learn,” he said. “My mom says, ‘You got to learn the hard way, don't you?’ That's me. I learn the hard way. But it's about how I pick myself up and be better and stronger.”
