Justin Bieber responds to photos showing him smoking pot

By Daniel S Levine,

Pop star Justin Bieber has had a tough first week of 2013. A paparazzo was killed while trying to take a picture of his Ferrari and there are reports that he and Selena Gomez have broken up again. To make matters worse, a photo of the “Boyfriend” singer surfaced Friday, showing him allegedly smoking pot. Bieber tweeted a message to his fans, telling them that he hopes to never let them down again.

As we previously reported, TMZ has published photos of Bieber having a party at his Newport Beach hotel on Jan. 2, the day after the photographer was killed. Lil Twist, the 19-year-old rapper who was reportedly driving the Ferrari when the photographer was killed, was also at the party, rolling blunts for everyone with his brother.

Bieber’s security was also there and made no attempt to stop the person who took the photos from taking them.

Chris Guerra, the photographer who was killed, had been trying to get a photo of Bieber smoking pot for weeks. Sources for TMZ had insisted that Guerra was wrong and that he had never seen Bieber smoke marijuana.

Bieber had sent his condolences to Guerra’s family in a statement shortly after his death was reported. The pop star, 18, also called for new legislation to prevent the paparazzi from chasing celebrities.

While Bieber’s reps haven’t commented on Friday’s photos, he has sent a series of tweets to fans.

“Everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up,” he wrote. “back on tour tomorrow. ready to see u all smile. time to do what im supposed to be doing. performing. #BELIEVEtour”

He continued, “i see all of u. i hear all of u. i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u. #beliebers.” He added, “like i said...2013...new challenges. new doubters...Im ready. We are ready. see u all tomorrow and everyday after that. #BELIEVEtour.”

The New York Daily News also reported this week that Bieber and Gomez broke up again just before New Year’s Eve.
