Pattie Mallette, mother to 18-year-old popstar Justin Bieber, is producing an anti-abortion film in the hopes it will “encourage women all over the world.”
Mallette, the executive producer to Crescendo, hopes the film will bring $10 million, The Associated Press reports. Mallette became pregnant with Bieber while she was 17 years old and in an abusive relationship.
In a statement released, she explains she hopes the film will “encourage young women all over the world, just like me, to let them know that there is a place to go, people who will take care of you and a safe home to live in if you are pregnant and think you have nowhere else to turn."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mallette discussed her pregnancy in depth in her memoir, Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom. She admits she was pressured into having an abortion, but remembers, “I knew that I had to do what it took. I just couldn’t abort him.”
Crescendo is slated to hit 100 locations on Feb. 28, the film's proceeds will go to centers which will help women and their children.
