Actress Kate Hudson will design a capsule collection for women’s clothing retailer Ann Taylor, to hit stores in May.
Hudson is already the face of the retail chain, and has signed on for another year working as spokeswoman in addition to her stint as guest designer, according to USA Today. The actress will collaborate with Ann Taylor’s creative director Lisa Axelson to create a line of summer-wear inspired by Hudson’s personal style.
Women’s Wear Daily reports Hudson’s line will reinterpret some of her red carpet looks for everyday wear.
“Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience, and there is a really wonderful connection,” Hudson said.
She continued, "Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season. I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women."
The actress will also join the council for Ann Inc’s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative, aimed at empowering young women to serve as global leaders. As a council member, Hudson will help select grant proposals. She will also play mentor to high school-aged girls involved in the initiative.
