Katy Perry walked away a big winner at Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards. The 28-year-old “Wide Awake” singer won four awards, “Favorite Music Video” for “Part of Me,” “Favorite Female Artist,” “Favorite Pop Artist” and “Favorite Music Fan Following.”
Though she was grateful for the three awards she won for herself, she was more proud of her KatyCats, who beat out Beliebers, Directioners, Lovatics and Selenators to win “Favorite Music Fan Following."
"I think that if I had to pick one of the awards, [“Favorite Music Fan Following”] would be my favorite one because my fans support me so much. They’re kind of like my friends," she said in her acceptance speech. "I am very glad that they've given me the time to grow as an artist, and I look forward to entertaining you again. So, back to the studio I go."
And the studio seems to be exactly where she went following the award show. She tweeted about writing songs with Sia. According to Digital Spy, she is also working with Greg Wells and Bonnie McKee. Though she got right back to work, her fans’ big win was still on her mind.
Meow out to all the katycats for their tireless PCA voting. You now hold the title for favorite music fan following! We rule the school.
