The Jenner-Kardashian’s were the latest victims of “swatting,” a prank in which someone calls in an emergency to a home, sending police and medical personnel rushing only to an area where no such emergency exists.
Access Hollywood reports that a swatter called in an emergency to Kris Jenner’s home on Friday stating there was a shooting-when in fact there was not.
Jenner's home was approached by nearly a dozen SWAT team and emergency personnel moments following the call.
17-year-old Kendall Jenner shared a post of the police, a circling helicopter and her father Bruce taking a picture with the officers via Instagram sarcastically captioning, “I love it when 8 police officers show up at my door and 10 cop cars are outside my house. just another casual Friday evening at the Jenner household. #nbd #EveryonesOk.”
Kim Kardashian, big sister and mommy to be didn’t take quite such a sarcastic approach with her tweet. “Just got a call from my mom telling me about this prank call that someone was shot in their home & 15 swat team & 3 helicopters showed up!,” she wrote.
She adds,” These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. Its dangerous & not a joke!”
Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are other celebrities who have fallen victim to swatting.
