Kristen Bell played it coy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when talking about her and fiancé Dax Shepard’s baby on the way. While the actress may have hinted that her baby is a boy, she didn’t crack and reveal what she’s having officially. Instead, she gave a definite maybe.
According to E! News, Bell said that Dax is super-excited for his child to arrive. While talking about all of the things he wanted to do with his baby, Ellen had to ask if she’s having a boy.
“[Dax] is just thinking about all the off-roading he'll have in this tiny partner,” said Bell, which prompted the talk show host to ask if it’s a boy. “Maybe,” Bell answered. “Do you have to be a boy to off-road? Absolutely not! I think he's going to force [the baby], even if it's a sloth, to off-road."
The House of Lies star, who had a big smile on her face, once again said “maybe” when DeGeneres said, “I all of the sudden think it’s a boy.”
Boy or girl, Bell says she has enjoyed pregnancy so far.
“My self-esteem has never been higher,” she said, adding, “something that the baby's giving me hormonally makes me feel really giggly and happy."
There’s one thing she not looking forward to, though. She says childbirth looks “terrifying.”
"I feel like, when I arrive at the hospital, I want a glass of whiskey, I want the epidural in my back and I want to get hit in the face with a baseball bat and wake me up when it's over,” she said, according to Us Weekly. “ Because I've seen the videos—and it looks terrifying."
